This fee is included in our Living in a Residence Hall Financial Aid budget. Blackwell Hall residents will not pay the added fee, as the cost of these appliances were already incorporated into their rates. The fee is split among residents in a room, so your Equipment Fee will be lower if you share a room. For 2023–24, most residence hall contracts include an “Equipment Fee” of $110 for the use of a MicroChill refrigerator and microwave combination unit in each room. The following fee will appear as a separate line item on student Cal Central accounts: Spring-only contract rates are half of the full-year rates (5 installments instead of 10).
